Big Kahuna slot is everything you would expect from a game by that name: flashy, colorful and intense! One of Microgaming’s earlier releases, launched in 2004, Big Kahuna slot machine has a simplified structure of only 9 paylines in combination with 5 reels and 3 rows.

Still, the simplicity and naivety do not compromise the overall experience and Big Kahuna is definitely a ball of good old retro fun, featuring two different Bonus games and the Wild symbol worth 8,000 coins for the combination of 5. In terms of the slot’s return to the players, Big Kahuna slot is a medium variance game, with RTP calculated at 96.2%.

Big Kahuna’s Powerful Magic

In case you would like to change the dynamics of the slot, Big Kahuna offers the option to switch between the two modes, Regular and Expert. The Expert mode provides an additional perk that is omitted from the Regular game – the Auto Play feature.

Opting for the Auto session will put in motion 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 or even 500 spins, which can be stopped at any time manually or through the advanced settings where the player can pre-determine the balance amount that, once reached, will halt the spins. Triggering any of the bonus features will also terminate the spins.

The paylines in Big Kahuna are not fixed and the player can increase or decrease the number of active lines through the Select Lines button. Right next to it, Select Coins button is located, allowing the players to adjust the number of coins they are willing to wager; selecting the Max Bet tab will set the number of lines and coins to the maximum. The total bet amount can still be determined by the player through the – and + tabs, with the highest wager being capped at $22.5 while $0.05 is the lower wager limit.

All the winning combinations are paid from left to right, except for the Monkey Scatter icon, which pays both ways. When the multiple winning combinations are formed on a single line, only the highest one will generate a payment – a minimum of two identical icons is required for a combo to be payable.

Fruity icons fall under the lower value symbols; at least three of any Fruit icons will have to land on the reels to form a valid combo and trigger a payment of 10 to 20 coins. A slightly higher value is assigned to the Comodo Dragon and The Sorcerer symbols. Landing 5 of them pays 500 coins. The highest grossing symbol is the Big Kahuna Logo Wild, which can form the winning combinations with all other icons except for the Monkey Scatter.

Bonus rounds are unlocked by the special symbols, Volcano Bonus and Mask Bonus icons. A minimum of 3 Golden Masks on the reels will activate Pick a Mask game.

The player’s task is to select a random mask which will then reveal a bonus prize amount until the Collect icon is selected. The landing of three or more Volcano symbols triggers the Volcano Bonus, where the player picks one out of five different Fruit symbols, thus winning an additional bonus amount.
