All new symbols

We liked how all of the symbols are new, and freshly drawn. We have nothing against the traditional slot symbols, but it is nice when a developer goes all in to come up with something we haven’t seen before. All are either Aztec or jungle related that keep to the spirit of the theme.

There are 10 base game pay symbols altogether, as well as the Phoenix Wild, and the Scatter.

The pay symbols start at the lower end of the scale with 5 Aztec inspired carvings. We said new, but to be fair, a few do look suspiciously like a heart, club, and diamond… Not that we are complaining, just saying. Anyway, four of these starter symbols are needed to make a winning combination worth 0.25x and 0.75x the wager. These are more or less throwaway symbols to make up numbers.

The toucan, snake, and jaguar symbols in the mid-range offer better value. Only three or more of these colourful animals are needed for a winner, with values of 0.25x, 1.25x, and 3.75x the wager. Getting better.

The top of the paytable is dominated by the huge 6 tile symbols. These fearsome looking characters need only two of a kind to produce a financial result. The green warrior priest will return 0.05x, 0.5x, 1.5x, and 7.5x your stake. His counterpart, the warrior priestess, is good for 0.05x, 0.5x, 2x, and 10x the wager. Now we are starting to get somewhere!

The Phoenix is reborn from the ashes

The animated burning Phoenix is the Wild symbol and is brought to searing life. This mythical bird is an Expanding Wild which covers an entire reel and stands in for any symbol except the Scatter. It pays out when substituting for other symbols, but also when multiple Phoenix Wilds land. Two or more are needed, and five of a kind is worth 25x the stake. Play n’ Go have done a great job with the Phoenix which is animated beautifully and often lands to link symbols into winners.

The Aztecs were sun worshippers, so it makes sense that the Sun symbol is the Scatter. Land 3, 4, or 5 of these to receive 7, 12, or 20 Free Spins. With each Free Spin, at least one Phoenix Wild symbol is guaranteed to land. During this section, if 2, 3, 4, or 5 Scatters land then 3, 7, 12, or 20 more free spins are added to the total to really get the party going and the coins flowing!

What makes Phoenix Reborn slot so special?

There are plenty of Aztec themed slots out there now, so what makes Phoenix Reborn stand out from the bunch? The first key attribute that needs to be mentioned is the graphics.
